Thanks to a friend, I finally broke down the rest of my 10-bolt for my F-body. Going to have the exterior cleaned up and powdercoated for easy clean up and inspection.
Have Yukon axles and an Auburn Racer differential waiting to go in with another set of 3.42’s. Should be nice and tight after 160,000 miles of abuse. This thing had a few pounds of dirt/oil/coolant sludge built up on the pumpkin that I scraped off before cleaning it all off by hand.
Pics from the removal and cleanup process, that rear end oil is some of the most foul smelling stuff I’ve had the pleasure of dealing with in a garage. After a week it smells better, but maaan that first day or two...

I swapped the diff oil on my axle and it didn’t smell that bad.

Mine had the additive in it for the posi, it’s pretty horrid stuff.

I also added the friction modifier. Maybe Ford oil doesn’t smell as bad as what you used.
