Now I know the truth.

IT’S REALLY FUCKING HARD.

Fired up the old laptop and downloaded what appears to be a modified version (there’s lots of extra circuits available). All I have to play with is a 360 controller that I can plug into the USB (no wheel) but even then I might as well have been playing with a brick. Effectively steering and applying the appropriate amount of gas and brake for any given situation (i.e. making Turn 1 at Monaco) is about as difficult as milking a male cat.

I know there’s people out there that have mastered GPL and I’m guessing those are the same people that are winning GT Academy because I don’t know how any human can drive these things.

I’m all for the “realism” experience but sim racers crack me up. When an average, non-racing game comes out, and it’s extremely difficult, people complain and it falls by the wayside. Racing games and sim racers? If you can’t feel the g-forces through your screen, the game is crap. And it’s the extremely difficult ones that get remembered.
