It’s been a while since one of these was done and lots of new folks have joined since then.

What does your username mean (if it’s not totally obvious)?

Also, what’s your avatar (again, if it’s not totally obvious)?

I’ll start. My username is just a mashup of my first initial and last name, nothing interesting. My avatar is this picture of a Wright Cyclone 9-cylinder radial from a T-28 Trojan.

My last name starts with “Mc.” My first name is Mike.

The “Mc” makes its way into a lot of naming at our house. “McModem” is our wi-fi, McGames&Flames is our 4th of july party, McThanksgiving is our thanksgiving party etc...

Twism stands for The World Is Mine; my younger self saw it on the Internet long ago, it resonated with him and I’ve been using it ever since for pretty much everything where I don’t want to see my real name.

(It’s also the name of Shaquille O’Neal’s clothing line, but I used the name before him.)

Avatar is Lord Vader with a set of aviator shades. Because it was the first image I found in my folder when I created my Kinja account.

The Game Cat was a character in the book Vurt. He was sort of a behind the scenes guy who knew the answers to many many obscure, but relevant, points of information, but only shared what was necessary to share.

I loved Vurt , possibly more than any other book ever published ( Zodiac, The Monkey Wrench Gang, The Diamond Age and a good majority of Jeff Noon’s other works are up there as well).

I read a lot, I come across a lot, I compile knowledge and occasionally share it. I related to the character. Quite a bit.

The 235 is a reference to the Illuminati obsession with the number 23 (and the number 23.5 / 235 specifically).

The avatar is the album cover for Curve’s Open Day At The Hate Fest . I’ve been obsessed with Curve for even longer than I have been with Jeff Noon’s works. (For this reason the Curve song Pink Girl With The Blues , is the only proof I have that a higher power may exist, as it is actually written about Vurt ).

My username is just a little variation on a quote from Macbeth in order to give it an automotive feel. My family hasn’t owned a Chrysler product since mom traded in the Sport Satellite in on a FIAT 124 Spider back in ‘75, so there really isn’t any Mopar connection. There is a little self-deprecation involved in the quote, with the preceding line “Told by an idiot” intentionally omitted, but with the quality of some of my comments, it is implied.

The avatar is a nice picture of a VW Vanagon that I found on the web somewhere. For some reason that defies all common sense I love the VW T3 vans and good minivans in general - I currently have a rare Mazda5 6MT as my DD. I have owned a few T3s over the years and still want to get another one as a project car, preferably a camper, even though I really have no interest in camping. I fall under the “obvious” category. I used to ride a lot, but not so much any more. My wife wishes I would downsize my bike collection, but resist, I shall. I’m “The Real” since someone else uses Bicycle Buck as a nick on twitter.

I’m not big on posting my face all over the place, so I go low-profile with just a pic of my shadow. The bike is a Redline Conquest with moustache bars, barcons, and fenders. For those not in the know, those are odd things to have on a cyclocross bike. Living in an area averaging 60 inches of rain a year, fenders are a luxury!
