I moved from really cramped apartment to my own house in December. Now I have a big garage and a lot more space for my vast pile of random stuff. But since the move I haven’t seen certain things. The things that I have been mostly missing for are:
-both of my vernier calipers
-binoculars (spring is gone and I haven’t seen much birds...)
-touch screen interface for my table top CNC router
-couple of new SSD hard drives
-my “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Tammer-Diesel” track day helmet.
-my best screw driver (for some reason one is above all others)
Where are those? The helmet is pretty big thing to lose anyway. “In a cardboard box” is likely the correct answer because my new home lacks suitable amount of shelves or cabinets so a lot of things are still stored in big pile of boxes placed in three locations.
During the move I did found my long lost video projector and bicycle hub wrenches. I had been looking for them but they were surprisingly well hidden.

I’m really good at hiding things right where I won’t forget them.

You can’t forget them if you never remember them in the first place, eh, eh?

True enough.

Oh, my small thread lock bottle is also among missing. I almost forgot that one. I do have unopened bottle but I haven’t seen that either. My bicycle wheel doesn’t stay in one piece so I really do need some thread lock soon.
Maybe I would now have a reason to buy a good vernier caliper and spotting scope to replace the missing stuff. Those missing SSDs are annoying because my brother keeps asking for them.

The SSDs and the helmet struck me as the things hardest to replace, apart from possibly the interface for your CNC. It’s a pain losing a best screwdriver, though - I understand perverse attachment to tools. If my dad’s long handled 9/16 + 1/2 double box-end ever went missing, I would be thoroughly annoyed.

Luckily it wasn’t my only helmet so I don’t need to get a new one yet. But it is the pretty funny looking with the 90’s sticker bombing.
But I need to go to a good tool shop soon as I my house came with a Kamasa tool set but it is of course missing the most essential wrenches and sockets.
