Today we worked on the 7 a fair amount. New spark plugs, oil change, found out trans prog error, and liberated the muffler with a hacksaw.
It runs so ridiculously well. And mother of god it sounds good with no muffler, we hauled around so much. For three guys who spend all our time in little old Bimmers, this shit is properly fast. And we’re into it for under a grand
The trans error was because a metal bracket was stopping the throttle, and the kickdown switch was being hit at like half throttle. That’s it. Everything works as it should now. I’ll post a ghetto video somehow of how it sounds, it’s so friggin good. I now love V8s more than anything
We also went to the beach. Oh the other cars are an E28 535i/5, and an E30 318is. We surround ourselves with awesome old bavarians.

Muffler liberation is the Jalop equivalent of Bra Burning.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!!!! Please do not hold your car up with one of these widowmakers while you put your head underneath! A wheel underneath does not count, buy a jackstand!

We have jackstands, he just didn't want to get them....we made sure it was stable before he started working, and if it did fall, we got the wheel in there so it would catch it. It doesn't look like it in the picture, but he was fine

as long as you checked it I guess. Those things make me nervous as hell. I had to use mine last week to take a wheel off for a flat tire and I only used it long enough to get it on the jack stand.

Yeah I'm currently pretty paranoid about jacking things up because I had my truck fall off the jack while I was replacing a flat. But the combination of the jack, e-brake, and BMW wheel chock with teeth was surprisingly sturdy
