You’re the reason I’m not coming home until 12:30. And tomorrow I’m staying out until at least 2:00, but most likely 3 or 4. Same thing for Saturday. I like getting the extra hours, but damn.
(Also, they don’t pay overtime at my theater... so I’m earning minimum wage all night.)

I was under the impression that only agricultural fields didn’t have to pay overtime.

Georgia is really screwed up. Our minimum wage is actually below the national one. So we can’t actually go below 7.25, but legally our minimum is like five bucks. It’s ridiculous.

So, borderline illegal minimum wage + no overtime + an overabundance of dry counties = Me never living in or visiting for an extended time in Georgia. I would rather go back to the country of Georgia.

It’s insane. The overtime thing is just my current job, though. Most places do pay at least a little bit extra, but I just have the same wage nonstop, even if I’m staying five hours late on Christmas.

It’s funny Tennessee does not have any such minimum wage or overtime pay laws set, they just use the federal labor laws. Nonetheless, I have never hyad a job that did not pay at least time and a half on both overtime and holidays. Buuuuut, I have only had a couple of hourly jobs in my life.
