Which would you pick? and why?
Man that Merc sure looks awkward at speed compared to the velociraptor. EDIT: I just noticed this (and it may not be news for anyone but me) but it appears that the magazine subscription has the video for the 3 hypercar showdown)

Merc. I like their interiors and I don’t need a bed.

I sure like the idea of the Merc and portal axles with huge beefy tires sure is appealing...but so is bombing around with an ear to ear grin...tough call.

They are such different vehicles it would be hard to choose. If price wasn't a factor, I would get the Merc. Not a lot of deserts around me to go racing through. Realistically, while I'll never be able to afford the Merc, I can afford a (used) Raptor.

Mercedes, they seem equal off road, but one is a Mercedes and one is a Ford pickup.

exactly, I’ll take the Ford for the reliability and easy of repair.

Well yes IRL I’d take the ford b/c it’s a third of the price as well. But in a perfect world I’d rather be driving the Merc.

This is a hard decision. I like them both, but probably the G500 because I enjoy the noises it makes

Price not being a factor, I still think the Mercedes component is a negative mark for me. I know the G wagen is special and all, but the 463 models are infused with enough modern corporate merc to give me pause for concern.

I know this is my bias screaming out, but for me, Mercedes>Ford, all things being equal.

If it was base raptor, I’d take the Merc, but Velociprator trumps all.

I guess it all depends on whos doing the service and how long you plan to keep it around.

True. I’m that type of buyers who (foolishly) looks for comfort and lots of features over how well the car actually works, as evidenced by my choice in wheels.

I’d never use them properly so their actual capabilities don’t matter to me at all. Based on styling and attitude I’d take the Ford. The Merc looks like a toy car in a bad way. I don’t like it. And I’d feel the need to explain to people that the over the top look isn’t just tasteless styling but actually functional.

Good point, nothing subtle and no explanation needed with the Ford

Raptor hands down as its the truck equivalent to the miata in my eyes as its the answer to everything

I’d change the grill though. Not because I’d be embarrassed to show everyone that I drive a Ford, but because the size of the letters is too gaudy. A reasonable sized blue oval would be just fine. ;-)
