Snag 1 could be something suspension gone weird, maybe, but it might also be something arcane like your power steering rack failing or out of adjustment. Snag 2 - yeah, sounds like a safety switch acting up.

does the crown of the road effect the pull of the car? If you are on the other side of the road, does it pull the other way?

Snag one - Roads curve towards the edge to prevent standing water, so all cars will pull slightly to the right (or left in the UK and other backwards-ass countries where they drive on the wrong side of the road). I know that it sounds stupid, but could that be it? When I first started driving, I didn’t fully get this concept. If not, I’m guessing it’s a brake caliper not releasing entirely. Does it do it more on acceleration vs coasting?

Snag 2 - SOL. You have a Hyundai Elantra. I had one, and while I loved it for being cheap, utilitarian, and unkillable, things that didn’t affect driving always went bad for no reason, particularly switches for things like the windows.

Naw, I was taking into account the crown. If I’m on a road that’s banked slightly to the left, she stays straight.

Meh. I hear you. I also find it’s a bit hit or miss on which specific car will crap out. I’ve seen other Elantras of same vintage in mint condition, no snags. It might just make more sense to go to a wrecker and scavenge an entire sun-roof motor assembly, swap it in and see if that fixes the issue. (assuming the issue is contained with the motor assembly.)

Naw, I know what you’re saying but I’ve tried driving on the opposite side of the road where the crown banks to the left. In that situation, the car stays straight. (balanced forces and all)

Check your wheel balance. This weekend I rotated my tires, then had vibration on the highway and my truck pulled to the left a bit. Then Tuesday I got my wheels balanced, no more vibration and it tracks straight again.

I was told a long time ago, that all cars should have a small pull to the right after an alignment so that if you fall asleep at the wheel you will not drift into oncoming traffic. Whether that holds true to today or if it ever was I’m not 100% sure. Could have just been my Dad messin with me so I wouldn’t waste money on something he considered trivial.
