I don’t know your politics but I’ll let you in on a tip. As long as you have the latest expansion pack you can play pirated versions of prior packs without any problems.

I live by the sea (technically, the Thames is tidal).
Mine is
4.2 GHz AMD FX 4350 Quad-Core 8GB
I have no idea if this is good or not but it plays Civ5 with turns which lasts seconds rather than minutes which is a massive improvement for me.
As for the Sims 3 it doesn’t chugg or anything but the fans spin up to max rpm for some weird reason regardless of temperature.

It’s probably a settino you can change. I have the same CPU, but overclocked well over 5.0GHz (those things can go really high and stay stable) and watercooled. Mine is set to run fairly quiet when I’m gaming. Though my room does get up to nearly 80 degrees with all the heat it pumps out.
Is yours a custom build, or some sort of box PC? With my custom build, I can use a fan controller program within Windows. (It’s Corsair’s program)

That spec is not bad... but not equal to an i7... and will run hotter too. It’s the heat from the CPU that make the fans spin up. Check the inside of your case and clean out any dust. That can help the situation. Also make sure the air intake or exhaust isn’t blocked in any way.

In that case, you can do upgrades if you want. It’ll say find a fan controller that you can use to manually turn them up and down.
