I'm a Windows Systems Engineer. I've owned 2 cars per driving year of my life, from Chevrolet to Volvo. I'm also bored. Ask me anything.

What’s your favourite song to listen to while driving?

Which systems in particular do you work on?
Jalop question- which has been the most interesting car you’ve owned?

How do you say “The square of the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the squares of the two sides of a right triangle” in Latvian?
You did say to ask you anything :)

Hi! Can you guys bring back Microsoft Sam? And a 32-bit version of Fuji Golf would be nice, too.

It ranges. When in commute, it's anything on the Jazz (not smooth jazz you fucker) station. When out for a spirited romp, Pantera gets my foot to the floor. Winding up the mountains? Something with a standard driving beat, such as Muse's Absolution album.

Most common vehicle type? How bad does on call suck?

Currentl my environment spans 2000 Server to Server 2012. A mix of in-house and third party applications. Oddly enough, given how Microsoft has platforms for most needs, there is very little MS save the OS itself here. Still, good work and good experience :)

I work with Microsoft systems, not for Microsoft. However you can always submit a feature request :)

Fixed, now you have no excuse :)

Most common, FWD automatic sedan.
How much does on-call suck? Not bad as long as the pay is alright. I've had to deal with CEO calls (while drunk as fuck) but didn't care cause I was maeking the FAT STAX

Tough call! I gotta go with single coil though. It may be unforgiving, but you can't beat the tone!

I don't work for Microsoft, just work with their products :)
I missed the second part of your question: The most interesting car has to be the 1987 Saab 900 SPG I'm restoring. Awesome mix of Saab and Triumph engineering. Most Jalop? I own a 1995 Dodge Dakota SLT. 4x4, 4wd, 5 speed. Most Jalop truck ever, beating out the Mazda RePu on the JalopMeter by 15 points :)

A lot of colleges have the CS school in the college of engineering, that is the best I have come up with. I’m in IT though and half the guys haven’t even gone to college, so no idea why they get to be engineers

I’ve been in IT for 12ish years, was an exchange engineer before and CTO now. to me engineer means you have an EE, mech eng, etc. degree. I get the title’s implications but i’d prefer they find something different (that being said, my team’s senior guys are still called ‘network engineer’, etc.)

I hear ya and these days titles can be tossed around like nothing
I do intend on completing my degree; I'll need to soon enough to continue my path
