I never did end up doing a full edit of this footage. It’s hard to edit down a multi-hour ride into ten minutes or less.
It’s a small, one-lane road going from, I shit you not, the town of Yreka, a bit south of the CA-OR border along I5, to Eureka, which sits on the Pacific Coast Highway.
It was slightly terrifying.
This was from my (also incompletely-documented) 9000 mile tour of the western states back in 2012, which I briefly wrote about in one my very first posts on Oppo.

I’ve been toying with finishing this... chronicle, but it was already over a year ago when I wrote those first parts, and I’m not sure how great my recollection would be at this point. Still, if there’s interest, I’ll give it a shot.
Anyway, during this trip, I experimented with several ways of mounting the camera, and eventually decided that the lower to the ground the camera was, the more speed was conveyed. I eventually placed it where the kickstand would scrape juuuuuust before the camera. Worked pretty well.
