I had one. listen for VANOS and timing chain ticking as they are expensive repairs. Ask for records. Overhaul the cooling system.
Listen to the advice that SpicyMcHaggus gave you. I had a 540i and the cooling system is shit. Also, don’t expect cup holders because they don’t really work either.
Overall, it is the best car that I've ever owned.
