Nice to see some lexus GX love. I’ve exstensively driven the GX460 and quite like it. Though I’ve never been able to take it off road :( i want to try out the diff locks!

Didn’t know that blog existed, though it’s not really my top interest. Good article though, and starred for the Monty Python reference!

You might have a hard time trying out the diff locks...it doesn’t have em.

You can lock the center diff of the gx460.

Which reference would that be?

Yes, the center diff has a lock, just not differential lock(s). The C.Diff lock is basically essential to actually make it true 4wd, buts its great that its a torsen in the event that you don’t need true 4wd.
Reminds me of when I was shopping for my cruiser, it has (or could have) a center differential lock button installed but additionally a full differential lock package was a factory option as well and so I would ask if it had diff locks (a dial that actually locked the front and rear diffs) and 50% of the people I talked to were all “yeah, its got central locking”...okay, but what I mean is; is it fitting with the differential lockers option? “Yeah, it locks them all up from the middle with a button, come see us!” Thanks, bye.

I basically gave up on searching using the term "diff lock", So many people have no idea what it is and use the term indiscriminately. At one time I was looking for an 80 series, and I resorted to just looking at pictures of the dashes to see if they had the dial. The ad would be almost no use.
