Here we have a red Leaf with UK plates.
So what?
Well, I’ve just seen one just like this. Its owner must therefore have proceeded slowly from charging point to charging point, no more than about 150km at a time and hoping that the one he got to actually worked, until he got to a ferryport from where he could take his electric pride and joy to Ireland and then drive around from charging point to charging point all over again.
I wouldn’t, but you can only admire the obsessive determination to make an EV do something it was never really intended to do.
You’d also need patience and a very calm disposition to drive along, watching the range steadily decrease and knowing that there’s no guarantee you could actually charge up before it stopped.

I believe the shape of these speaks quite strongly to being a “Loaf” rather than a “Leaf”. Except for the odd resemblance to a pig up front.

They have a certain, er, uniqueness about them.
I think they idea is that, like a Prius, it’s visibly different and recognisable as an electric car unlike say the eGolf which is designed to be as Golf like as possible. You can therefore buy your Loaf, er Leaf, and everyone will know just how green you are.

I’ll admit to having grown a grudging respect for the Volt. It carries off its audacious and odd look very well considering.

Our company had an electric Citroën C-Zero as a test vehicle. Couple of times I tried to cover a distance of 117 km to visit my parents with it. At he first attempt I was greedy with the speed and had to resort to a rope for the last 2 km. But when I kept the speed at around 50 km/h I was able to reach the destination without the help of a rope.
I was planning to try it again during warmer weather to see if I could go a bit faster but the field test time ended before that happened.
