The Murdersofa’s alignment is completely boned, and my tires were down to cords. As such, I didn’t feel safe driving on them so I called in a favor and borrowed some Cadillac SeVille STS wheels from a busted car (lol head gasket) at work and put them on the Sofa for the weekend.

Not entirely sure how I like this. I’m going to find some steelies, finish them gloss black, and maybe get some chrome trim rings on them. These are classy as hell, though.

Kinja'd!!!

Next to my cheap beat-to-shit chinese knockoff wheels. You can actually see how out-of-round they are thanks to our city’s wonderful potholes. On the right, 245R18. On the left 225R16 and a HELL of a lot more sidewall. So comfy.

Kinja'd!!!

Two jacks, one airgun, no problems. Had a wheelie stool, thank god. I tried doing the other side without the stool and my back still hurts two days later

That’s one of the better ones. My right-front is worn into a conical shape (somehow I ended up with POSITIVE camber) and has a crack in it from a direct impact with a pothole at 65mph on an offramp. I don’t understand how it’s holding air.

On the plus side, your odometer is going to read lower than your actual mileage now with those bigger wheels. :D

The way he typed “Seville” is where the real problem lies

Always liked the STS just sad those northstars were junk (4th gen had the better lines). Glad to see there is some benefit of their blown head gaskets lol. Also here is a data base of cars you could get Steelies from

I just want to applaud you on your car. It is amazing, and the fact that you autocross it makes it even cooler. At autocrosses today there are too many of the same cars, oh wow there is 2 Fiesta STs here, a guy with greased up hair in a M3 and a ton of Subarus. I always like seeing variety at the track, which is why I like taking my old Police Interceptor to some trackdays and autocrosses. I mean I do also own a BMW 3-series which I do track as well, but I always have more fun in the Ford. I wish there was more of a “joker” class at events, because I would pay money to see old Oldsmobiles and Mercury’s out on the track.

Thanks! A police interceptor? After driving one on interceptor-Ing business, I do wonder how it would be to autocross one. How does it compare to some of the more boring traditional autocross fare?

Well... its slow but so much fun, I mean it is a 1998 Crown Victoria with almost 140k on the odometer. It is actually probably the nicest 1998 Crown Victoria Police Interceptor left in existence. The last track day I did in it I actually bent the back portion of the drivers seat from the force of my foot mashing the throttle, but it was so much fun. I had people come up to me after every run in their 911s, Corvettes, and Subarus and thank me for fulfilling their dreams of running from a Police car. I think most people at like track days also get a bit bored of seeing the same cars show up, and really enjoy seeing someone throw around something different. As for how it performs out on the track, it really isn’t that bad. I mean if I had an unlimited budget or a great paying job I would actually probably build a track ready Police Interceptor, or some 90s era GM car, because why not?

I wish we had an actual track around here. If we did I’d be far more motivated to make a track-only ridiculous vehicle, like putting my LeSabre’s shell onto the body of a 90s Camaro or something insane like that.
