I have a truck that I’m looking to pick up tomorrow but I am kind of skeptical on the mileage on the dash and I’d like to see if the CarFax or equivalent looks like that’s plausible. Thanks in advance! Picture unrelated.

One would need a vin or current license plate to run. I have myCarfax and I can get you millage from the last reported service.

So last confirmed millage was 241,646 in 2013 with a projected millage for today at 262,913. I’ve known the registration thing to be wrong before so I wouldn’t worry about it.

Hmmmmm, I wonder if the gauge cluster was swapped at some point. The dash says 87k, which I thought was fishy for that old.

Is it a 260k price or an 87k price? If it’s not a great price I wouldn’t go for it. At this millage you have a lot to choose from and you can afford to be picky.

He's asking $2k, which is a great price for 87k, not so sure at 260k, it's easily the cheapest, best truck on my Craigslist right now.

Yeah, I sat in the truck earlier, the mileage is what it says on the dash, but obviously a new cluster or something. It gave me really mixed emotions though, it had a lot of odd wear, but then also a lot of signs someone really maintained it and cared for it somewhat recently.
