How’s it running for everyone? I want to get it for the first person mode alone but only if the performance is as good as a console.

I have an Acer gaming laptop with 16 gigs of ram, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M, i7 processor. I believe it’s above the recommended settings but I’ve noticed a decent amount of throttling under heavy loads.

Absolutely smooth for me, getting way over 60 fps with my gtx 780 OC. I haven’t tested it yet on my laptop with its 980m yet so I don’t know how well it translates to laptop cards. If you have at least 3gb of gpu memory though it should be alright.

I thought I had 4 gigs but I’m at work right now and every online listing for my computer says it has 2 - do you think that will make a huge difference?

Can’t speak for the mobile GPU, but I’m running an i7-4770, gtx 750 slightly OC’d, and 8gb of ram and I get 55-90 fps with settings around normal on 1080p. Been awesome. FOV mod helps increase vision in first person.

What do you use for overclocking?

The 860M is fairly decent. You should be able to play no problem. Maybe keep it elevated or get a cooling pad to minimize throttling.

Cool, thanks! I see you on Steam going at it. I have a crappy pad, I should look into upgrading.

Gigabyte’s OC_Guru. Figured best to use my manufacturers OC program. Just +50mHz

I am planning on upgrading to a 4gb card. GTA EATS through 2gb of vram. You’ll be able to play it, but it won’t be the prettiest. What’s your panel resolution?

I’ve got almost 40 hours in since it came out, really good game. You should join the Oppo crew if you do end up getting it. It runs really well for me, but I’ve got an R9 290, so I’d be surprised if it didn’t.

I want it for the Editor...but my laptop isn’t nearly powerful enough. I’m sure I could upgrade it myself though. It is refurbished after all.

Like butter. And if you can’t get 60, it’s smooth at 30 because of it’s console roots.

AMD FX-4350 OCd to 5GHz, GTX 970 OCd a bit, and 16 gigs of ram.

I want to play 3D games in general on my PC since it has more than enough grunt but for some strange reason when 3D graphics are in use all 8 of my PC’s fan spin up to full RPM which results in a noise I have described in the past as a freight train having a three way with a jet engine and a tornado. I should probably fix this issue before my ears bleed or my fans explode but I don’t care enough about FPS or resolution to use my PC enough over my Xbox One.

Oh my does the game look amazing. I’m running it off an i5 3570 @ 4.0 with 16 gigs of ram and a 2gb 770 superclocked. I can run it super smooth at 60fps with everything in High or a lot in Very High

Definitely, you are going to have to tweak some settings to get it to run nicely because of it. 2gb isn’t really enough of a frame buffer for games anymore. Now depending on the resolution of your laptop you might still be okay but you can pretty much forget playing in 1080p with no issues. The problem is that the recommended graphics card is a GTX 660, now that card is also a 2gb card but the big difference is how the card is designed. The 660 is a full desktop card and while it definitely is on the older side now it still will wipe the floor with the 860m. You can see a direct comparison here http://gpuboss.com/gpus/GeForce-G…

Not perfect. I get around 50-90 FPS when just driving around and shooting people, but it can drop really low (like 12fps) in the apartment and while moving the camera. Overclocking helped it a bit. You have the 4GB 860M right?

That will help run it. Putting grass and distance scaling on ultra really kills frames.

I’m not sure about laptop GPUs, but my old 660 ran it decently well at 1080p. My new 960 is much better, though. It runs at 60 FPS in 1080p on the higher end settings. It scales very well. The minimum requirements are a 9800 GT, which is freaking ancient. Not sure how it’ll look on one of those, though.
