A teenager in an old Taurus pulled up next to me at a red light and asked to drag race, and I declined. Why, yes, I will be 30 this weekend, how ever did you guess?
I am *this* close to yelling at some kid to get off my lawn, except the half of it that isn’t dead is weeds, so I really don’t care about that.

Possibly, although a Mustang is already sort of the closest modern equivalent. Maybe what I need is to add a beater pickup.

The modern equivalent...well family tie is the Fusion.....but a beater F1 or F100 would be cool as well!

That would be the successor to the Torino sedan, no doubt, but as for a moderately priced RWD longitudinal engine coupe on an intermediate platform, this is what you get if you get a Ford today.

Well with the Torino herd so thin anymore a Torino is grandfather to it and Fairlane is GreatGrandfather.

That is true. Car ranges have just become a lot more narrowly focused. Want a mid size family car? You can have any body style you want as long as its a 4-door pillared sedan in one of 4 colors. Want a station wagon? You have to buy a light truck for that.

if you partake in libations, you should treat yourself to an “old man drink” on your 30th birthday. on mine, I went to the bar and asked the bartender to make me an ‘old man drink.’ I suggested an Old Fashioned. she replied, “nah, that’s an old lady drink” and made me a Rusty Nail. It will grow hair on your chest.

A couple years ago, I pulled up next to some kid listening to what I think was Skrillex at a rather loud volume. I thought to myself - Wtf is this trash this kid is listening to. This blows goats! At that moment, I felt old.

Its a newish Mustang - a newish V6 Mustang, no less. But, then, he was in an old Taurus, so I guess he wasn’t concerned about details like that.
