I was just driving around, then I got home, had a snack, and put on my shoes to go mow the lawn, and then I found out that there’s a tornado warning effective for the next 20 minutes. It’s sunny, not at all windy, and fairly clear outside.... But apparently, there’s some larger-than-a-golf-ball hail not too far away, and it’s working its way over here. Like directly over here. I hope I have enough crap in the garage to cover up our cars, which are only outside because of all that crap in the garage...

Are you in the Atlanta area? I just got the same warning. Not raining or stormy here at all. Ugly looking cell forming over Cobb county though.

Just a heads up, but a ‘Tornado Watch’ means the conditions for a tornado are apparent, but a ‘Tornado Warning’ means tornados have actually formed in the storm.
Thunderstorms form and move very quickly. I want to say they typically move about 20MPH. I've definitely had a sunny-stormy-sunny moment last less than 20 minutes

A whole bunch of the southeast is under a tornado watch right now. My wife flew through ATL a couple of hours ago. I’m glad she missed it. She did report some almost severe turbulence between ATL and RIC.

Oh I thought you said Toronado

You’re reminding me that when I eventually drive across the country I need to pack two queen sized comforters just in case I need to cover the car.

Welcome to Atlanta, where the meteorologists play.

Yep, it’s an actual warning. The tornado itself is just floating around, pooping hail on everybody. Hasn’t touched down yet, but it does exist. Apparently.

Growing up, I remember Cobb got tornadoes all the time. They’d give a warning for all of the metro counties, and then Cobb would have like seven touch down with no one else getting anything.
I’m in Gwinnett, by the way.

I’m in Gwinnett too! In the Snellville area.
Cobb always gets hammered. I feel like Stone Mountain breaks up the storms for us as they come West to East.

Awesome! I’m in Lawrenceville, but I go down into Snellville fairly often.
And yeah, that actually makes sense. And they never come from the east, so yeah.

Yeah, Lawrenceville is right there next to us. I used to live in Grayson too. So, been in this area a while.

Lilburn reporting in! They had the kids school on lockdown, but have released them.

Damn, I always assumed you were ITP for some reason. Never would have guessed we were all in the same general area.

Nice. It’s just some thunder over here (near Brookwood High School).

I’ve been in Lawrenceville all my life, with the exception of my one year of college in Statesboro, I guess. So yeah, I’ve been here quite some time too.

I think we moved to Grayson in 2002-03 and my fiance and I have lived in Snellville since 2011(?).
Also, getting really dark here now. Going to bring the dogs in...

Tough to get land for Lemons cars and other silly stuff ITP.
