If it’s any encouragement, my two favorite categories are pre-war Art Deco land yachts and true JDM from any era (especially the shakotan crowd), so they can definitely coexist in one’s brain!

If my eyes aren’t failing me, I believe that plate is from the Yokosuka Navy base area in Japan.
It was popular for a while until military people got busted for stealing japanese people’s front plates and selling them on ebay for 40 a pop. Then when the group doing it got busted by the japanese police, they all got put in Japanese jail and lost their military careers over a few hundred dollars.
Gotta love the military “gangstas”, they don’t ever last long and get back to their ghetto ways and end up fucking themselves somehow.
