I enjoy your writing, but I’d like to revisit a line from your Escalade review that I did not agree with:
Hard to stretch the word “elegant” or its synonyms around something designed exclusively with straight lines and right angles.
This is a complete load! I’ll introduce you to some of my friends who would also disagree. Prepare to have an elegance bomb dropped on you.

There is a difference between “ugly” and bad design. Anyone has the opinion to call a car/product ugly based purely off what they feel. What they shouldn’t do is call it bad design because of it.

Apple devices are designed almost entirely around straight lines and, as much as I think the company and its operating systems are trash, they are pretty elegant.

Aw, jyeah. Bauhaus in the... well, haus.
Sorry, I studied Bauhaus architecture a bit in my German classes, and I’ve been to the Bauhaus Universitaet Weimar. I love this stuff.

You know who didn’t like Bauhaus? Hitler. In fact he basically labeled you a traitor because Bauhaus architecture went against “traditional German architecture.”
