About to leave and go read in the park, but I leave you with this. I was looking for another 80s commercial to giffify, but the jingle in this one is just too great to overlook: “Lookin’ so hot, so good. So much thunder UNDER the hood. (IROC IROC! woo) IROC & Roll! (IROC, IROC & ROLL!) Tough on the street, so mean, Camaro’s muh thunder, drive this machine! (IROC IROC woo) IROC & Roll yeah. Drive today’s Chevy, live today’s Chevy, IROC!”
I know the 80s style gets a bad rap, but I’m pretty into what the woman at :16 has got going on.

Indeed, it’s warming up and the leaves are coming out on the trees. Here’s the view from my apartment (corrected for Southern Hemisphere viewing):
That commercial was awesome by the way. Hopefully I'll be able to enter the turbo zone someday…

What brings you out there, by the way? Work, studies?

Studies. I’m doing my last year (which is a Master because, you know, French education system) at the Uni here. And hopefully will find work either here or in Australia.

Ah ok, well I hope everything is going well. I know my year in France has been filled with both happiness and sadness, but it’s been very rewarding so far.

So far, yes. But I’ve only been here for 2.5 months. Are you finished in June then?
The most annoying part with New Zealand is, that everything French is expensive. I’m currently making a Tartiflette with cheddar and bacon.... And Alcohol is crazy expensive too.

My flight home is on May 19th. I know lots (not all) American stuff is pretty expensive here in Paris. I’d have to pay 2-3x as much for American whiskey or good peanut butter. I imagine the situation is only made worse by New Zealand’s remoteness. Amazing what a little taste of home can do for your spirits though.
