Cars keep getting heavier and heavier, but do you ever wonder which vehicles weigh the most? Well wonder no longer, because here's a list of vehicle gifted with the most mass. I've even thrown in cars that weigh the least at no added cost, because I care.
I've picked the heaviest trim/configuration of each model. Info is pounds. Fun things to point out: The Aventador is only a few kilos shy of a fully loaded Cadillac fullsize. BMW's ugly duckling 5GT is heavier than their top of the line limo.

Last but not and least have a look at the lightest cars on the market. Pretty predictable here, but I am surprised the Mirage weighs so little, and that the Mini weighs so much.

IIRC the 5 and 7 series share a chassis, and 5GT uses the 7 series wheelbase/floorpan (whatever you wanna call it) for a shitload or rear legroom. Might explain the weight.

As you've got other non-US-market cars in there, I think it's only fair to give the Up! (1882lb/854kg), 108 (1885lb/855kg), Twingo (1904lb/864kg), i10 (2056lb/933kg) and so on their due.

Yeah they share the same platform, it's interesting that uglifing a car adds some pounds.

the 96 impala ss would barely crack the fatties list at 4180. Wow.

why has no one stripped out a mirage and stuffed in a turbo or anything yet?

While those are worth noting, I only included some track cars because A) they're awesome B) might make it to the states. Including non-American cars opens a can of worms, when you think about all those flimsy Chinese and Indian cars (Tata Nano 600kg/1323lb)

Wow. I didn't even realize you could make a modern "standard" sedan (so not an aftermarket limo or anything) weigh damn near 6,000lbs.
Way to go Bentley, for doing what I thought was no longer either necessary or feasible.

An interesting note here is that that's a mere 100lb heavier than a '92 XJ6 Majestic. Apparently bloat isn't a big thing at Jaaaaaag. Unless you note that most bloat took place from the 60s up until then - still not a huge amount.

Nice list. I had no idea the Bentley Mulsanne Speed was only 23 pounds shy of weighing three tons. I knew it was heavy, but not quite that heavy, holy crap.

American fullsize cars really weren't that heavy by today's standards. A 1970 Impala with a V8 was under 2 tons, even at their biggest they weren't really any heavier than a modern Bentley.

It's shocking how little some people read before they comment, not that I haven't been guilty of it time to time.

I believe the all aluminum (al-u-mini-um) construction is responsible for that.

My car would make it onto the lightest list if they sold it over there. 2040 lbs.

It seems Jaguar considers a gentleman's car to have a proper weight: this far, and no further.

came in expecting to find that a fiesta is 2/3 the width of a chevy 2500. Why couldn't you have used the words heaviest and lightest instead of fattest and skinniest?
