Recently while watching Wheelers Dealers, the episode about the Maserati 3200GT did I know that thing came with a twin turbo'd v8, and that it wasn't for sale in this continent, the one America saw was the 4200 with the ferrari v8 and the boring ass tail lights.

So I started reading and found that maserati was actually prolific, it made quite some models, all of them Boxy and twin turbo! Holy crap, now I feel I must learn everything about those, I mean would you guess that (according to Wikipedia) their first twin turbo v6 was also the first TT engine in a production car, and that it was a Carburator 90° V6, and it was actually based on an older F1 engine from maserati?

On top of that, to me they look sort of like those 80s Japanese wangan racers and bosozoku with them Wide fenders, aggressive lips and spoilers, mesh rims and all that jazz.

How cool is that?

There was once a time when Maserati and Lancia were the truly great Italian marques while Ferrari and Alfa Romeo were shoddy and overhyped.

Don’t get me started on the Ghibli...

To think Maserati has the gall to suggest that horrid 3-series knockoff is even remotely related to one of the finest GT cars of all time!

Yes, I should read more about Maserati, it seems to me its one of those unappreciated things of life, sure they are well known and all that, but seeing such great designs through time, it leaves me perplexed why not so many people know about those, or at least not to the scale of Alfa Romeo or Ferrari.

And its not like it was a thing of the past, the Maserati GT is still a fine looking car, a great design that has aged properly, the MC12 or that Cray cray Birdcage concept!
