Inspired by a thread elsewhere in the kinjaverse. And for you whippersnappers under 20 in the crowd, you can change it to 12-year-old you.
Fifteen year old me was a bit of a shithead who would probably love the Jeep and the bike, and would grudgingly accept that the Camaro is pretty cool but would still be like Y U NO MUSTANG THEY'RE THE BEST??

For the project, probably very confused. Would want an explanation how I'd gotten there. For the DD, probably complaints I haven't gotten something actually cool - though 15 year old me was all about big-car based hauling practicality already and had a Panther-boner even then.

15 year old me never would have even imagined I would have my current garage.
15 year old me wanted a 3000GT VR-4, 24 year old me has an SL600 and a Magnum RT.
I'm not even completely sure how I determined the VR-4 outside of shooting through ebay ads looking for anything under $15k (let's ignore that the first car budget determined by my parents was like half that, and turned out being a Neon SXT).
I would have killed myself if I started off in a VR-4. But having two immensely awesome rides, 24 year old me couldn't be happier about how things actually turned out.

15 year old me liked dually crew cabs and 70s Eldorados/Lincoln Mark coupes. I drive a FiST, GTI, and NA Miata now. He'd have called me a 'fag' (15 year old me was an asshole and sensitivity about that term had not yet reached those parts). He did buy a Suburban with funds from working at a sod farm and reffing, so he wasn't all bad...just had some things to learn.

15 year old me was convinced everyone should drive a racecar or just give up and walk. He'd be extremely disappointed with the Snuze. He would be really pissed when he found out I had a WRX and sold it.
Then again, my life plan at that point was literally to get a job, live in a trailer or whatever absurdly cheap housing I could buy, live on Ramen noodles, and save every single cent until I could afford a Ferrari.
He would also be absolutely terrified of the motorcycles. At 15, I tried to learn to ride - the girl I was seeing at the time, along with her whole family, were into bikes. They had all kinds of street bikes and dirt bikes and stuff. She tried to teach me to ride on this shitty old Honda 90 trailbike, but I ended up crashing into their garden shed. I swore at that point I'd never ride a motorcycle again.

15 year old me (11 whole years ago) would have loved this car. I've always had a thing for luxury cars, and this would have blown my face off. It would have been 4 years old 11 years ago. At the time, the mileage probably would've been something I'd be questioning heavily, but nowadays, it doesn't even bother me. For sure, 15 year old me would have been crazy for it.

I'd be much happier about the '99 Miata, even though I probably still thought they were not for me. It would have been brand new at the time, though.

When I was 12 (which was in the 1980s), I recall thinking luxury cars with lots of bells and whistles, muscle cars (Pontiac Trans Am being the best, followed by the Mustang and the Camaro coming in 3rd) and cars like the Porsche 928 or Ferrari 308/328/348/Testarossa were the best. I also thought the Ford Taurus, Pontiac 6000 STE, Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe, Thunderbird Supercoupe and Audi 5000 were great. And when the 1989 Suzuki Swift GTi came out, I thought it was great too. And of course something like a huge motorhome would be AWESOME.
Cars I hated when I was 12 were the Camry - especially the wagon (this was the 1980s), Nissan Stanza, Honda Civic Wagovan, BMWs (didn't like the 4 round headlights... thought it looked old/out of date. I was into aero headlights like you see on Audis and the 1st gen Taurus) and just about anything by AMC/Renault sucked to me except for the Jeep YJ/Wranger or the Cherokee (but only if it had the Powertech I6). And I thought the Chrysler K-cars sucked.. though I thought Chrysler minivans were okay if they at least had a V6 and 7 passenger seating... because I could see the partying potential with a vehicle like that. And I didn't understand why anyone liked Volvos or Saabs.
So... fast-forward to today... I've grown to appreciate some of the cars I used to hate... particularly the Civic Wagovan since I owned one for a while.
My current car is a Ford Focus Wagon. My kids like the Focus a little better than the PT Cruiser I had previously because the Focus has leather seats that are more comfortable. But the Focus wagon doesn't blow them away. And they liked the Saab 9-3 I had more than the Focus or PT Cruiser.
So the 12 year old me as well as my kids think the Focus Wagon is okay, but nothing special and maybe a little on the ugly side when viewed from the back. The 12 year old me would think the Focus hatchback or a Mazda 3 hatch would have been better choices since they looked better and have better performance because they weigh less.

But my current line up

98 Camaro - Not a v8? only girls buy the v6s but an F-body is an F-body

Ohh its awesome alright. A week or two ago, I had immense regret about the price , not the car itself , but I’m over it now. I’m just 15, so this is quite expensive for my age. For 25+ it’s decently affordable.
The reason that I chose it was because it best reincarnated the muscle cars of old. While the Camaro/Mustang seek more performance, the Challenger is more just “put a big engine in a big comfy car and call it a day.” It’s the best cruiser of the three, plus you can fit 2 adults + 1 kid in the back, with the Maro/Stang it’s just 2 kids.
If it’s a weekend car, I highly suggest the 6-speed. There’s nothin’ a feelin’ like the semi-whiplash of bangin’ it into gear.
If it’s a daily driver like mine, the 6-speed is still good, but I chose the automatic.
Your preference.
Pros:
-Duh. 375 horsepower. Definitely not scary powerful around town, but it’ll scoot when you want it to.
-Sounds awesome. Stock R/Ts are as quiet as anything else but the previous owner of mine cut the resonators off, it’s an effective ordeal that probably costs no more than $200. It’s got a nice moderate tone that really sounds like the 60s from Idle-1500 RPM. Once I get a part-time job I might save up for some Flowmaster 44s! Which is basically the resonator delete but 2x louder and throatier.
-As stated, it’s very comfy. The platform is from an E-Class and also supports the Charger and Chrysler 300.
-16.2 ft^3 of trunk space. That’s better than most midsize sedans, and if your cross shopping this against a Camaro/Mustang, it’s definitely larger than their ~13 ft^3.
-Looks awesome, it stands out. And Dodge embraces vibrant colors like purple and yellow. But if that’s not your things, there’s nothing wrong with a black one.
Cons:
-Blind spots: in addition to the already large C-pillars, the headrests block the quarter windows also. You really need to trust your mirrors. Better than a Camaro, that’s for sure.
-The resonator delete has moderate drone from 1600-2000 RPM while crusing, and it’s really bad while accelerating. That’s about 50-62 mph in 5th gear (mine is automatic btw.)
-Fuel economy. Well the MPG itself is not too bad (15 city/25 highway) but the fact that it takes midgrade fuel offsets that. So gas money is like paying for a regular-fueled car that does 14/22 MPG, like a 10 year old Tahoe or truck or other.
Pros and Cons aside, if you’re driving a Cavalier right now, it’s gonna be a big difference. A good one, that is.
Good luck on your decision!

Thank you for writing this up. I noticed the flipping huge blind spots on it but I trust my mirrors anyways. Thinking of keeping the cavalier around. Thanks for the fuel mileage info the cav gets about 23 mpg. It does look awesome! Not sure what colour I would end up with but I like it better than the mustang or camaro at least on appearance. Cheers!!
