Two of them!! And yes I made sure to give them plenty of room. Though part of me did wonder if I could sacrifice the Uplander and hope someone left the keys inside one. I'm pretty sure I could figure out the controls.

That's pretty cool. Up in a town called Petewawa ontario, there is a big canadian military base. Petawawa is only accessible by the two lane transcanada highway. As I was going south down the highway I encountered a US military convoy of 100++ vehicles coming up to the base. It was incredible.

I knew it was a us convoy because some of the vehicles were hummers, and canada doesn't use hummers. The first Hummer had a big banner that said "military convoy" it was quite impressive. We waved at the soldiers and they waved back the US military is so nice to us Canadians! By the time I passed the last of the convoy I was about 30 kilometers (20+ miles) from where I first encountered the convoy. There was some gaps but it was over a hundred vehicles no doubt.

:D

You should have stuck around for the bald eagle and fireworks show. they're pretty impressive .

Rumor has it 1 out of every 50 US military Hummers is carrying a dormit eagle egg that can be hatched any time emergency liberating and freedomizing is needed.

So the question is, which one would you have taken, the Abrams or the AAV? Fire power is a moot point - they don't transport them with live ammo onboard, plus it's a physical impossibility to drive and shoot at the same time. The Abrams is slightly faster (48mph vs 45mph on road, 30mph vs 20mph off road) and it has better armor - composite chobham armor which gives equivalent protection of >450mm armor grade rolled steel against all attacks. The AAV only has 45mm rolled steel armor. But the AAV has slightly more range (300 miles vs 260) and it's amphibious!

Choose wisely...

ooh.. tough decision. Given the water laden area we live in I think I'd have to take AAV , especially considering ammo would be difficult to obtain. It's beginning to play out like a GTA heist in my head... That may or may not be a bad thing. Hang on, two gentlemen in suits are knocking on my door.

Actually... you bring up a good point. The AAV is usually armed with an M2 50 cal machine gun and a Mk19 automatic grenade launcher. 50 cal ammo is readily available (at about $5 per round) and as a civilian you can buy flare and smoke rounds for the Mk19.

Last time you tried that things did not end well for you.

I also love that Maryland celebrated the war of 1812 on their liscense plates. Way to celebrate losing a war lol.

We're pretty good at rewriting history to make ourselves feel better about it :)
