So, what will it be? Heinkel 154? Merc? No.

(pause for brief fanfare).

.

The Fiat Croma Mk1.

Kinja'd!!!

Why??

Fiats used to have three digit names - 124, 127 and so on. They moved to names but kept type numbers for internal use. Type 154 was the original Croma.

It was intended to be a shared platform, the Type 4, with the Lancia Thema, Alfa 164 and Saab 9000. In the event the Swedes and the Italians didn't see eye to eye and little was shared. The door openings were about the only visible areas in common.
