The gore in this one actually turned me off of the game. Weird residual issues from growing up with the SNES version of the first one, I guess.

...there's a fatality in this game where a fighter rips the other fighters head off, and then eats the skin of the decapitated heads face off.
So if gore isn't your thing, stay away. Far away.

ya probably but for some reason I like xbox now. I used to be all about that PS2, but then I got an Xbox for Forza 2. I think I'll stick with xbox until Gran truismo becomes fun again or until Forza starts to suck.

the best TV you can buy right now is a 70' vizio M-series 4k on amazon for 2100. It's fantastic.

+1 on the Vizio. I brought a refurb for cheap just because walmart was flushing that particular model at the time and thought "Well even if it's kinda crap, it's okay, what's a few hundred bucks, right? I'll just use this until it's time to move on to something else."
Once assembled and plugged in, the TV proceeded to rip my eyeballs off with awesome color reproduction and stunning clarity.
VIZIO WINS. FATALITY.

I'm considering picking it up. How does the control layout work? I'm so used to playing it on the Genesis that every other controller layout I've tried to play an MK game on since has sucked. Are specials that difficult to pull off?

nope, super easy. Controls are how they have always been, d-pad and buttons. Fatalities are easy too.
