I have always appreciated the understated Pininfarina design of the Ferrari 550/575, and I have always loved Corvettes. But I have never desired to combine the two. Well, the world is a big place and as long as there are exotic cars there will be exotic car replicas offering a bittersweet taste of what it would be like to own one.

This is the first time I've seen a Ferrari 550/575 replica. You typically see countless Testarossa replicas, usually based off C4 Corvettes, like the car above. But Ferrari 550's aren't really that expensive yet - a quick search found a few around the $70 - $90k range. Not chump change, of course, but not F40 money either.

But what makes this Fauxrrari different is the claim that it appeared in the second Fast and Furious movie , 2 Fast 2 Furious . Can anyone here familiar with the movie confirm or debunk the claim?

There are no pictures of the interior (probably intentional), so I'm guessing that you'll find a typical C4 Corvette interior in all its Knight Rider-y glory, with a few embroidered prancing horses thrown about for good measure.

Speaking of horses, the Ferrari 550 left Maranello in 1996 with a respectable 485 bhp and 419 lb-ft of torque out of its 5.5 L V12 heart. By contrast, the 1984 Corvette rolled out of the factory with 205 hp from its 5.7 L V8 powerplant, and 290 lb-ft of torque. Not the most impressive stats on a Corvette, and who knows how many of those horses are still alive and kicking in this 31-year-old cross dresser.

So would you pay $15k for this Corvette-Ferrari mash up with possible IMDB street cred?

According to this page, nope. There are two Ferraris in the movie, neither of which are this one.

that's what i expected. it obviously wasn't prominently featured in the movie. i'm guessing if it was in the movie, it was in a crowd shot way in the background.

background shots are best would be my guess. I know for some of the movies they asked local car groups to show up and pose in the background
