1) I know I know, there's no such thing as "most unique" but you know what I mean. Change it to "most distinctive" if you'd like.
2) For the purposes of this discussion, exclude any Ferrari, Lamborghini, Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Aston Martin, McLaren Pagani, and Lotus because duh. All their stuff is unique, and are obvious choices (I'd actually let Lotus slide because they're so low-volume, but I actually don't think they have ANY cars for sale this model year, until the Evora 400 comes out). I'll also say that if you're writing from the US or Canada, Alfa Romeo is excluded because their lineup is just one car currently. Other supercars are fair game I suppose since they're "odd" in the greater context of their manufacturer.
3) It doesn't have to be fast or exotic. Just something that makes your head snap when you see one, thinking, "Wow, that's a left-field choice…" or "Wow someone bought one of those?" or "Gee I hope I'll remember that if I win the lotto tomorrow!"
Some things that come to mind:
1) Chevy SS?
2) BMW i3 & i8?
3) F-Type? Despite the glowing reviews they're still a pretty rare sight.
4) Hyundai Equus?
5) KIA K900?
6) Rally Fighter (Are there any other cars that are "shed operations"/coachbuilt/whatever you want to call it like this in the US or Canada? Any North American equivalents of Ariel/Radical/Noble/Ginetta stuff like that?)
6.5) ICON Bronco (I put 6.5 because I'm not sure if these are legally classified as new, since I think they keep the existing VIN.)
I'm sure you'll think of something amazing. Let's hear it Oppo!

Any regular cab dually pickup. They just look weird, and have such a singular purpose and suck at anything else. Like driving a semi tractor without trailer. Don't see them very often.

Man. you gotta stretch these questions out more, we can only handle so many a day.

That's debatable at best

A 5'6", or shorter, bed pickup. WTF is the point of that. Yeah, you can put a half sheet of plywood in there. How about some drywall? Yeah, you can put a half sheet in there, too. Why buy a truck if you can't put anything in it but groceries.

How about this? 'Tomcar' from Australia. It's able to carry a family or there's a two seat model and a ute and you can road register it. It's more suited to off road use but it's a car.

In a time of trying to maximize fuel efficiency, Dodge decided to say "Fuck it" and released a car no one asked for, a 707hp sedan that is somewhat affordable and has leather out of a Ferrari.

Well, I can't buy it bc US reasons... But this is what I'd have:

Ah, the Equus Bass... Worst names ever!
Awesome. But falls in with the Ferrari/ Lambo camp.

Except bring the RT/ SRT back really already paved the path for Dodge.

Toyota selling a RWD sports coupe that looks good, has a boxer engine, a low-low center of gravity and a great weight distribution.
No one saw this coming.

By far the weirdest Lexus you can buy.

Yeah, but those are only a meager 485hp max.

Only? Until very recently that was an astronomical figure... Challenger really started the return to big HP figures in modern American cars, I think.

It was kind of tongue in cheek, the only part, but I think the Viper was responsible for bringing back the numbers.

HAHA ok ok. I'm new here and I'm just amazed at the quality of posts and depth of knowledge on here. It's like being in a room full of specialists; you could post about literally any car on here and someone will have something intelligent to say. I've already learnt quite a bit and shared some knowledge too!

Woah is that the GS-F? It looks like the RC-F but has 4 doors…I must be missing something.

What is that singular purpose? I actually have no idea what it is. More traction somehow because there's technically 1.5x as many contact patches?

Is it even "real" in the sense that you can buy one? And I think they're based in California, right? AFAIK that makes things difficult because the state only hands out so many "kit car" registrations per year…you have to show up at 3am on January 1st just to register your car or something like that. You snooze, you lose.
![]() 04/14/2015 at 01:54 |

Yeah that's pretty amazing but is sadly probably one of those deals where you could never register it in like half the developed countries of the world )-:

Leather out of a Ferrari? You mean it's of that calibre, or did they literally use the same supplier? First time I've heard that one.
![]() 04/14/2015 at 02:17 |

So you didn't see the registration plate on last two? It can be registered in Australia but I think it's not full reg. Even so it is able to be registered for use on certain public roads.
![]() 04/14/2015 at 02:22 |
|
Oh nononono I didn't mean it like that! I definitely saw the reg plate. I just meant that, if I were to assume based upon what I know, it's probably only registerable in Australia, New Zealand, and the UK, where the local laws support local industries and "Shed-cars" (think about companies like Ariel, Radical, Noble, etc)
It'd probably be real difficult to register in a place like the US, Canada, Germany, etc. Not enough safety equipment is my guess. (Yes there are "kit car" laws but in some places it can be quite hard to actually make use of these in reality.)

I do believe from the same supplier, or at least it is an option.

Not traction, but load carrying capacity. Duallys are used for hauling very heavy gooseneck or fifth-wheel trailers, usually. The extra tires increase load capacity. Duallys are not uncommon, but most are 4-door crew cabs. The 4-doors let them be used for carrying more people or stuff.
A regular cab dually is only good at carrying very heavy loads or trailers. They have little passenger space, no covered cargo space, ride very rough, and have very little traction with no load because of no weight on the extra set of rear tires.
