The 8x2 plywood top started life a year ago being occasionally placed on top of the kitchen table for games. The plan was always to make it into a table but my roommates and I were lazy.

This Sunday we had nothing better to do and it became project time. I did some measurements, drew up a plan and we headed to the store. Total cost for materials was just over $50. The design ended up a hybrid of what I wanted and what my roommate thought was best. We're pros, as you can see by the legs in the back being absolutely identical.

It's a wonder nobody was hurt. He's never used a jigsaw before, but I can't say I didn't make mistakes my first few times. In the end, it works! It only wobbles a little bit and is much more solid than I anticipated. I think if we had taken the time to measure the legs and the frame in-between the legs better, it would have a tighter fit and probably wouldn't wobble.

All it needs now is some putty and new paint! I've thought about plastidip or some other coating since it will be exposed to a lot of water.

If you can build a table you can build a car! Right?

Once I made a 4x8 foot table. With a triple ladder frame.

There's no build like overbuild.

That looks really nice. My table certainly wouldn't hold up to anyone jumping on it.

How do you make mistakes with a jigsaw? They’re really easy to use!

He's not very handy, also we didn't realize the blade that came with it wasn't long enough for the 4x4s.
