"Get ready to be mistaken for a Mustang" on a listing for an R129. Do any of you think that somebody would actually make the mistake?

Dude, you have no idea. It hurts.
People have said it to me, usually when walking towards the side of the car from 50-100 ft.
Every time, all I can say is "no fox body EVER looked THIS good."

Would not mistake that. But in all honesty, I'd rather have the Mustang.

I've never thought about it but now that you mention it, I can see how some non-car folks might make such a mistake.
I don't think my response would be very charitable, though ...

I mean, at a glance I see it. But that's about it. I'd say just off general body shape really.

Yeah, I bought this kit so I could put a V12 airplane engine into my 94 Fox Body.

Yes. For the uninformed, I could see that happening.

If they're not into cars, and they see it from the side, just maybe.

Oh, I can easily see someone making this mistake, especially when I've seen someone confuse a Toyota for a Porsche.

Yep, even when they were new non-car people made that mistake. Now that they're rarer I imagine it's much more likely.

Actually, I almost mistook one for a fox just yesterday. It was kind of far away in a parking lot, and I thought "Ooh, look at that fo- oh wait, that's a Benz."
So if it's far away, or if you squint, then maybe. I think the R129 is much better looking, though.

Happened to me a few times when I owned my SL500. I usually just walked away shaking my head.
