I happen to prefer Kinja’s mobile layout to it’s desktop layout. Maybe I’m weird, but I think full size images are just better. Today I discovered that the mobile layout is always there, it’s just only applied when your browser window is below a certain width. Observe:
Shit, now the temptation to stick Oppo in a corner of my screen while doing something else is even stronger.

I'm still annoyed at the fact that clicking someone's profile doesn't lead to their personal blog anymore.

Wish Mobile kinja wouldn't cut you off from enhanced text. You can bold and italicize, but that's it.
Smartphones are powerful enough to rival the laptops of yesteryear now. No reason why I can't edit HTML on one if I want, damnit!

I think this applies to the majority of the websites you visit, apart from the ones that say "mobile" or "m" in the URL.

I don't why Kinja doesn't have a goddamn app already. The mobile editor is so buggy, and I think that's because it's really just the desktop editor with the boolean triggered shrinkage.

I put heart and soul into my cheapass radio show, and then they take it from me. Why are you awful, Kinja?

Yeah a lot of sites do that. I just kind of always assumed that a platform as big as Kinja would have a mobile site. Especially with the editor changes that have to be made, etc.

That's how responsive templates usually work : P It's based on viewport size, rather than having separate mobile sites based on useragents. Welcome to 2015! It's a great time to be internetting.

Makes a lot of sense to me, easier than building a whole second platform. Guess I never took the time to notice the lack of mobile indicators in these newfangled URLs.

Yeah - super cool! The company that I work for uses all responsive templates as well for our customer pages. In a lot of cases, you can actually find a mid-width for tablets too.

Kinja does mid-width, I had already noticed that. Gets rid of the sidebar and puts trending stories at the bottom. I guess Gawker finally got their shit together and actually hired some real developers, and actually pay them, you know, in dollars. As opposed to room temperature Hot Pockets and lint.

I have never used a PC for viewing oppo, I'm always on my iPad. I work in a factory type situation so I hardly ever sit at a PC for longer than it takes to run a toolpath for a CNC router.
