Been a while since I did this, mainly due to hanging out on Photography with other random stuff...
Saw this MGA whilst illegally parked in SF, waiting to pick someone up. Liking the knock-offs..
Spotted the Bug-Eye while returning from a lunchtime run. I know there's a name for the wheels, here, but it escapes me at the moment. I've always wanted one of these ever since I read about them in an old column Peter Egan wrote when he was still with Road & Track ...

Yep. Sometimes, that's street parking in SF (in the more popular areas, that is). The other day I was driving home and passed a fairly new S5 and the rear bumper was already banged up due to parking mishaps. Made me wonder why someone would buy such a fine car and then park it on the street, knowing it's going to get hit by someone, eventually...

Yup, people suck ass.
Lots of people do it like second nature though, parking in the city sucks. That's why I always take Public transport into DC unless I have a reserved spot.

wheels are often called Panasports but most aren't real Panasports, lots of knock offs out there. Good to see the cars out there being used, thanks for posting

I think the wheels are Minilites?

Heh, looks like the exact clone of mine! It's even similarly scruffy. It's nice to see cars like that actually being used regardless of condition, rather than just being garage queens.

Do you live in SF?
I concur on garage queens. Just the other day I saw some dude driving his Austin Healy 3000 down the road - primo condition, too...

Minnesota. Lacking any kind of weather protection (the attachment points for the roof and side windows are missing), let alone a heater, it's only really usable for a few months of the year up here, but I try to make the most of it.
My family have a bit of a history of this – my father used to regularly do a 50 mile commute in his immaculately-restored Jaguar XK150, as well as autocross it and generally make full use of its capabilities. While my MG is by no means immaculate (although I'd like to give it a full resto one day), that's the kind of thing that I want to do with it.

Those have remained pretty cheap, there used to be more around SF/Marin with swaps but not so much now. There is one that goes to the Marin C&C sometimes. I think I would go for a 50's Morgan if I were to choose a small British car, I do like a MGB GT Sebring clone with a Rover/Buick V8. I have my 240Z and its actually pretty useful with the hatch.

Oh, don't get me started on Z-cars...owned a 280 and a 300 ZX Turbo. While I like the new 370's, I do long for T-Tops, pain in the ass that they are...
