always hated the bridges in Joliet. Always felt so damn jank. Like they'd fall apart any minute

Cass Street bridge, I presume?

If you had a 1974 Dodge Monaco with the police package, purchased at a Mount Prospect Police auction, this would not be a problem.

Yup!

I love that area.

There's only one that still gives me the creeps. The rest seem to be decent.

No, that was Cass street. I forgot to hit the Rt. 6 bridge. There's a bar on the river over that way I haven't seen in a while.

ahhh I think I know which one you're talking about. Can't say I've ever done the downtown Joliet bars, usually when I'm back there it's either Crowd Around Me, Hammers or Penalty Box in plainfield.

I worked at the racetracks for a number of years, got quite familiar with those bridges downtown when I-80 Eastbound was under construction. And the drawbridge on Brandon Road at the locks, that one is a doozy to get stuck at.

The only Joliet bar I went to was on. Railroad St along the river. It's called B&B Riverfront Bar now.

Most of my bar time in that area was at Stonecutters or Tom's in Lemont or Uncle Richies in Lockport.

I made it to Hammers at least once. I think..

Yeah its not very memorable haha. Penalty Box is cool though if you like hockey since they usually do Blackhawks Road Watch games there with some of the ice girls and usually Denis Savard shows up too

No joke?!

Rt66 was my second home for a few years (96 to around 02). You had to find your own routes out there for a long time.

I might have to hit Penalty Box. I don't drink like I used to but Hockey and Football are always better at a Pub. Strangers become friends.

Have you ever gone to Palace Grill on Madison by the UC?

Ah, an ex-pat.

I moved away for a few years, came back and now I'm in limbo..

That saying "You can't go home again" needs to be changed to "You shouldn't go home again.."

I was there from 06 through 2013. It's definitely a different experience being behind the scenes.

(1998-02 sorry, The car wasn't done till 97)

I would have loved being behind the scenes there. Was it a full time gig or Volunteer? The only people I got to know there were Pit neighbors and Tech guys.

It was way different than Rt41 and Union Grove.

Full time, facility operations. Met a lot of friendly racers, was always a good time cruising around and bench racing when there was downtime.

Oh, that had to be a good time!

I'm a Plumber by trade but I usually wind up in a Managerial role in Facilities Maintenance (Mostly Apartment complex work).
