The day of figures and facts is upon us, at your reach within just the press of few buttons on your keyboard or touchscreen; marketeers use them to produce the most impact on potential customers. They call it 'digital marketing'. No one will ever get to unleash the full potential of those numbers, but "1,000 HP HENNESSEY CTS-V PRODUCED BY TWIN-TURBO 6.2 V8 AND A TOP SPEED OF 240 MPH". The impact is fantastic, even though we've seen how people are struggling to put down Dodge Charger and Challenger Hellcat's 707 HP on to the road. It is hilarious as well as embarrassing when cars with half the HP pull ahead of you while Hellcat keeps searching for traction. It is like me searching for glasses on the floor when I accidentally drop them, only difference is, that I actually find them.

Still though, I appreciate the madness and excess that automakers often put out. It is what makes us automotive enthusiasts tingle here and there. 1000 hp, four doors, a boot; basically, it is a speed device with the practicality of your Toyota Corolla. I am all in.

But is Horsepower just a matter of bragging rights now? 707 HP and 1000 HP has consequences; Tyres, fuel, lack of control, and worst of all; making you look like a noob and the world around you goes Call of Duty on you.

I yearn to have the CTS-V some day, but given my lack of exposure to the vehicle, I can only write so much but still, don't you think it's enough. Enough of these numbers just so drivers can brag on paper with empty threats lunging back and forth and none of them are able to put it down.

Would cars with this outrageous HP and figure spawn the keyboard warrior equivalent of the auto world.

The worst kind. No car older than 3 years allowed. 100-150% duty on engine CC. And then Dollar/yen to rupee parity is crap.

Dang...

So, I've seen some pics of some American cars older than 3 years there. Is it likely the cars were secretly imported?

Politicians introduce special amnesty schemes to import cars of their likes here, which enthusiasts also take advantage of.

Then much like our security and economy, government's policies aren't consistent as well. So before this decade, we had different regulations, only higher duties. And all kinds of cars have always been here. In fact, a lot many have been exported out. There's still a restored to perfection Ferrari 250 GT Lusso as well.

Thought I'd let you know, Toyota invited me over at Hub Rally happening here in Karachi. Test drive the Hilux and Fortuner and I have said that if you give me either of the vehicles at least three four days around the rally to do the drive, only then I'll do it. Let's see what becomes of it. The rally is a fun track and if Toyota puts their game on, it'll be awesome to write on the experience.

Who the fuck cares? Stop giving this guy attention. Hennessey is not the only tuner out there, and the LAST one I'd give my business to.

The thing to remember is, most cars are better at putting their power down than the Hellcat. A 1000 hp CTS V or M5 or E63 is much more drivable than a stock Hellcat.
