Kinja'd!!!

We need a catch-all term, a common slur for bad drivers. We call motorcycle riders with no gear Squids, and it is pretty universally understood. But what about people who drive cars who don't know how a four way stop works, or who don't know the difference between a merge and yield, or for those who don't know what to do when traffic signals are down, flashing yellow or red (which is what happened to my cousin this morning that initiated this discussion in the first place).

I'm sure we've all lobbed the usual curse words at them, but it's time we labelled them with a term that is synonymous with bad driving. Something that is not derogatory on its own, something you could say with your kids in the car, but something that will convey the message that they're a danger to themselves and everyone else, that they lack a basic understanding of the common rules of the road.

We couldn't think of anything that quite fit the bill, so we've come to you. Do your worst, Oppo.

Turkey, has always been my favorite. There's no real reason for that.

usually used when they are driving poorly, like not going at an intersection when they should, or hitting the brakes to go around a gentle curve. Truthfully chicken would make more sense to describe the cowardly behavior

The general driving public? lol

The bad light scenario kills me. a couple months ago a good size intersection the light went out, no yellow or red, just OUT.

Cops were kind enough to drop off mini-stop signs at each road (4 directions). Then left.

People couldn't even figure that out.

I usually resort to "fucking asshat", but I can see the need for a more universally-accepted catch-all...

I will nominate the phrase " robinson ".

There was a show, way the fuck back before i was even an itch in my dad's nutsack, called Lost In Space, and every time something bad happened (about once a week, coincidentally), the pet robot would run around waving his arms saying "Danger, Will Robinson, Danger!"

People who drive in the aforementioned manner are a hazard to others, and therefore, a source of danger .

Damn robinsons...

My cousin was losing his shot this morning. The road he was on had the flashing yellow, but the car in front of him stopped, then all of the people, all of them, waiting at the flashing red, proceeded together as if they had a green light.

Over the last 50 years of driving on 6 continents and several types of racing venues, I've calmed down quite a bit concerning drivers with little to no talent or knowledge... I just keep my distance and avoid them best as I can.

I call them PEDESTRIANS . Because that's where they belong... walking. Its a polite term, and most who know me, know what I mean when I say it. It's perfectly suitable around mixed company, small children, and other pedestrians. Hehe. The degree of inflection in its utterance, reflects the stupidity of the offense, while the volume level shows the disgust I feel. Once said, I feel better, my road rage subsides, and life goes on.

We used to refer to beginner skiers on expert slopes as "Yomyoms" that would cut you off, get in your way or just stand there in the middle of the slope not knowing what to do next. I think it originated from the word "amadán" (pronounced Om-ah-dom) from the gaelic for a a male idiot/fool.

So YomYom or Amadán both seem like good suggestions to me.
