EDIT: moar pics. This is my Volvo. It's been through hell and high water and has only truly let me down once. I've had it almost 2 years now and it was my main daily driver for a decent while. After the recent issues with it and finally getting it all put back together again I just can't justify spending the money and time to finish it the way I would want it to be. It still needs a lot of love but it has come a long way since I've owned it. It currently runs and drives, but could definitely use a refreshed motor at some point(although the one in it has a lot of life left), the transmission leaks a bit, and some adjustable torque rods would help a lot with it being lowered. It's far from perfect and has some more than minimal rust in some places, but it's not completely boned yet. My question to Oppo is, what is a reasonable asking price for it? I'm thinking about doing something really responsible since I paid off my RX8 and selling this, putting the money towards another car and starting another payment on something new-ish, reliable, and worry-free.
Problems:
rust hole in passenger rocker
rust hole on drivers side sub-floor-pan
needs adjustable torque rods
AC not working
crack in windshield
rust around one tail light
cracked corner and tail lights

I updated the post a bit. And $3000 would be freaking awesome!

$2500-3k
I remember being offered a 91 245 for $400..... I was pondering that when I stared at my current W.I.P yesterday.

Looks pretty clean! You'd have to deal with a good amount of negotiation though.

I'll get more pictures tomorrow and put together a listing.. the interior has cracked leather and stuff, but all the power windows work, the rust isn't going to make the car fall apart anytime soon, and the radio works fine now too. Even the sunroof works for the most part.

If you find the right person, it should be a go!

I'll never understand this whole: have a payment thing....
you have 2 cars that work. Drive them until you dont want one anymore. then sell it. Buy what you can then.
Having a payment is just wasting money.

Having a payment is buying something that will have value when you are done, it's money better spent than paying rent.
But I digress... my reasoning for wanting something else is I'd like to have something reliable, good gas mileage, and trip-worthy as my daily driver while I'm going to school and all. I want to be able to autocross my other car and not be up shit creek when I break something and can't fix it for a month. I'm tired of wondering when the next issue is going to pop up and put me in an unexpected financial predicament.

Here's a question - to do minimum repairs, how much? Then, if you got, say, 10,000 miles more out of it, would you pay that amount for 10K more of Volvo-driving?

I just don't have the time and money to keep chasing things with this car. My biggest thing isn't if I can make it that much longer as much as is it worth worrying about it. I want to wake up every morning and know for a fact that I'll make it to school and not have to turn around and shell out another couple hundred in car parts.
It's more about the peace of mind, I'm tired of the whole 'if' thing.

The previous owner of our 1990 240 never remembered it working... They bought it new. Even our 850 lightly coughed luke-warm air.

Well I doubt AC was a priority in Sweden...

Fair enough - I thought if you could take it in and get everything done at once, it might work. But if you miss a class because of the car, that's not acceptable.

Yeah, I'm just kind of done with all of the constant working on little stuff. I don't have a garage anymore, and finishing the Volvo up today out in the sun and on gravel really made me realize that it is time for something different.
