Seriously? It breaks my budget and I'll have to pay Belgian smog tax, but since it has Dutch papers getting it road-legal here won't be as bad a battle as importing it straight from Japan.

I like the way you think. I also need to convince the wife; that's most of the issue.

No, your proper response is that you need to convince the wife to forgive you later. Trust me, what could possibly go wrong?

I was told that it would be nearly impossible to register in Belgium even with Dutch papers.

*cue sad trombone*

bollocks , keep trying , there has to be a way , if it's been registered in a European country then surely it has to be able to be registered in the rest of them. i remember the people who bought the Saab 9-5NG wagons . they initially had issues but one person had theirs registered in Germany , so the next guy had his registered there , then took it back to his home country and as he had papers from one european nation they couldn't refuse it to be registered in his home nation.

It looks like it was ridden hard and put away wet. (literally - there's some kind of rusty fluid stain in the trunk)

CP.

Exactly. Should be a relatively easy, assuming the Dutch papers are legitimate. It will still have to pass inspection though. Brakes, lights, structural integrity, you name it. But type approval shouldn't be an issue anymore as it already has EU plates.

license plate 05-SJD-7 is registered as:

Nissan Skyline.

Black.

Date of first registration: 30-06-1995.

Date of first Dutch registration: 07-10-2011.

Date of current registration: 07-10-2011 (meaning that the current owner is the first Dutch owner)

Date of expiry inspection: 19-11-2015

Stolen: no

Insured: yes

exemptions: license plate 18.2. allowed (I'm guessing the small form factor plate)

Engine: 2490 cc, 6 cylinder, 184 kW (247 hp)
