Just look at that long hood. Looks amazing in real life.
Also let's not forget the Z4 GT3, with its High Revving V8 with ITBs.

I wouldn't call it girly, but the side detailing does ruin it for me just a little bit.

What do you mean? The curves, or the how the sheet metal bends in some parts.
![]() 04/08/2015 at 03:39 |

For some reason I really don't like the look of the metal roof, it looks fantastic with the roof down though.

BMW didn't give the Z4 GTR. That's why.

The folds or, more specifically, the curved paths they take as they progress along the car's length. That kind of detailing comes off as forced.

Never knew the Z4 was considered girly, unless you just mean their general preference for convertibles. I always thought it was the Z3 and 1-series considered girly.

I'm gonna argue it's trying too hard. I think the proportions are a bit off, the hood is so long especially for a car that comes with an I4 or I6 (and a not terribly large one at that) under the hood. It's incredibly exaggerated and in person the front just looks way too long to me. They're styling the car for people who think 5 inches is actually 8 inches and who think that it matters.

The E85 certainly wasn't. The E89 is though. It was even designed by girls: Nadya Armamout and Juliane Blasi.

People that call any two seat rear drive sports car girly are wrong.

"That's a girls car." Is what someone says when they have no security at all in their sense of masculinity.

it's ugly...

What does that make the Hudson Hornet?
![]() 04/08/2015 at 09:34 |

You sound like someone who is butthurt about being only 4 inches ;)
That was right there, had to. But really though, what engines are longer than an I-6? A V12 by half a cylinder? IMHO Its beautiful because its proportions are based off mechanicals. No wasted space here.
Unlike the AMG GT which has 2 feet of room for air boxes between the engine and radiator.

Want, want ,want, want, want.
Seriously I would only be considering this for my next car if the idea of owning a BMW out of warranty didn't slightly scare me.
It just looks fucking right.
and if 300hp ever gets boring, you can add boost and wide body.

They likely also haven't driven one on a track. I have the E85 LCI version (softtop, and high output N52 motor) and it's incredibly well-balanced and doesn't jiggle about (Which is rare for a convertible. Just drive an old Saab droptop in comparison).
The E86 coupes were, if I remember correctly, the BMW with the most torsional rigidity of anything in the product portfolio at the time (Mid and late 2000s), and the E85 softtop was the stiffest convertible they were building at the time.

I would not know as I know next to nothing about 50's land yachts. But do enlighten me!

Designed by a woman, but not a particularly "girly" car.

Oh that way. Well, I've driven/tracked/owned the E85 and that was awesome. Trying the E89 to see it fit for replacing the E85 was kind of a let down. Hardly the dynamic driver's car the E85 was. Good drive but more cruising orientated.
'Girly' to some.

I hate that term. The Z4 GT3 is a thing that I want.
![]() 04/08/2015 at 12:36 |

wow that amg is wasting space. And yeah there isn't much wasted spaced in the z4, I guess I just think the second generation z4 looks exaggerated compared to the earlier ones.

Soft, heavy, cruiser, with no manual option. Not a girly car, but not a driver's car either. It's the new sc430.
![]() 04/08/2015 at 23:51 |

Now that looks stupid. It looks like it has two engines in series.

Have you heard one in real life?
![]() 04/08/2015 at 23:55 |

I also want one, but no M version means no LSD, which sucks big time. Out of warranty turbo BMW scares me. Maybe the E85 Z4M is a better option.

This is true.

How does the Z4 fare without an LSD?

Not in the USA, but you can order it with Manuel in Europe:
And it is a driver's car. 50:50,RWD, Manual.

Maybe you don't like that it is not body colored?

It's not.

What is a Z4 GTR.
![]() 04/09/2015 at 00:13 |

I like the old one better. Especially in M form it's more of a sports car. The current 3.0si is probably a bit quicker than the old M, but it's also more of a cruiser.
![]() 04/09/2015 at 00:34 |

Like the M3 GTR, but Z4. Or like the Z4 GT3, but toned down a bit.

I think it's because the roof doesn't seem to suit the lines of the car, looks a little unusual to my eyes. I still think it's a better looker than the likes of the 370Z and SLK though.
![]() 04/09/2015 at 09:15 |

Damn, I didn't know these didn't come with a LSD. Why do companies skimp on that when it comes to sports cars? Hell even the base Miata gets one now.
![]() 04/09/2015 at 12:35 |

It's reasonable, as long as you don't break traction. It's not wayward on the turn in, so long as you aren't shifting weight around the chassis like a monkey.
It's got a lot to give, and as along as you have appropriate rubber on the back, it really isn't lacking without an LSD.

te madrraron todos.
Pero si no entiendo por que el z4 es de mujer pero el fiesta de culos no.

Yes, all Muscle cars have LSD as standard now, but BMW still doesn't include one unless it is a real M car.
