Apparently, it's National Beer Day. Who knew? This unofficial (really?) holiday celebrates the end of Prohibition, when the repeal of the the 18th Amendment went into affect. On April 7, 1933, 1.5 million barrels of beer were consumed. Of course, every day is National Beer Day at my house. But for the rest of you, join these thirsty Patriots and celebrate your freedom to imbibe. Because when beer is outlawed, only outlaws will have beer.

This gives me an excuse to drink most of the beer I found at our friend's Easter Egg/Beer Hunt we did on Sunday.

Indeed! Friends have a "farm" nearby. Bring a dish to share, 12 candy filled plastic eggs per child you're bringing, & a 6 pack of beer (I believe the invite stated GOOD beer, no Miller, Bud, etc) per adult (I brought A&W root beer for my pregnant wife). The hosts hide the beer on one side of the house in the yard, and the eggs on the other side of the house. Kids go first, then the adults. Two people didn't want to give up the A&W they found, so I got 2 extras from the wife.

The only downside, is that sometimes the beer gets hidden a little too well. The host's father & father-in-law each found beers from last year. It's a great way to try a few different beers, and have fun with friends.

Is this your first, or are you adding to the brood? I've got three boys, 12, 9 and 9. We're done.

Holy shit. Serious props to a man who has a dedicated beer fridge. Or is there a little food hiding in there somewhere? I'll be right over.

The drawers on the bottom house white wine for the wife, and bottled water for everyone. Occasionally there will be eggs on the middle shelf with the cans (as cans and eggs allow). Otherwise, it's all beer. I would prefer not to think about the amount of money which is tied up in that fridge.

Second. My current automotive helper will be 9 at the end of May. She's going to get her fill of babies for a while. Sister-in-law (wife's sister) had our niece at the end of January, my wife is due at the beginning of June (but measuring a week ahead), sister-in-law (my brother's wife) is due two weeks after my wife, and their friend is due beginning of July. We also have a friend due mid-May and a co-worker's wife is due in August.

We're having the only boy.

When we were pregnant with twins, we had a visit with the OB and we took our other son along. He was about 2. I took him to the bathroom to change him, and explained that there were two babies in mommy's tummy. He looked at me wide-eyed and said, "That's a lot of babies!" I looked at him and said, "No shit!"
