I have learned the true meaning of terror, as well as the importance of relative placement. Last night, I stayed up way too late, and to offset the tiredness I would feel in the morning, set my coffee maker to make a pot inm the morning. This is one of those fancy coffee makers, with a built in auto start feature so you can wake up to the wonderful smells of fresh coffee in the morning. It was a steal at $15 at a garage sale, what can I say.
However, what my cut rate coffee pot does not have is any sort of cutoff when the carafe is not in place. My sleep deprived mind last night correctly set up the machine to start a pot of coffee at 8.25, so I could wake up to a nice warm mug. However, that same addled mind did not place the carafe where the coffee comes out, but on the counter next to it.
So lo and behold, I wake up to the delicious aroma of Trader Joe's coffee. All over my floor. And clothes. And power strip. Luckily, only a few clothes were ruined, no electrical devices shorted out, and I only consumed 2 rolls of paper towels cleaning up the 10 cups of coffee on the floor. But I have learned my lesson. Just like in real estate, location is everything, especially when it comes to coffee.
Thanks for your time everybody, here's a similarly disastrous car.

If it is any consolation, it would have overflowed anyway, even with a stop in it, because the basket isn't big enough to hold 10 cups. I know.
And please don't make fun of my car. I had one for a couple of weeks but sold it because there were a few too many gremlins in it.

Thought I was starting my day off pretty well. Found out I'm not the only one that has done this kind of thing. Then I see the Gremlin and I have to remember that life has it's ups and downs. The thing is that the coffee on the floor turns into an up.

That's a little ironic. . . but I apologize to you and all Gremlin owners.

It was a decent car for it's era. The thing I liked the most was the gas cap.
