Red line: Normal thinking. Items shipped NEXT DAY AIR from Aurora IL to Milwaukee WI would travel in this general direction and distance.
Green line: UPS thinking. Lets ship the Next Day Air items into the middle of a FUCKING STORM and then 12 hours later get them to Milwaukee but not get them to the delivery address by any reasonable time.
It is currently 4:53PM. The parts I ordered were guaranteed by 10:30AM today.... They left the UPS facility in Milwaukee at 10:37AM, and I still haven’t seen them.
Oh well, FUCK IT, it’s FRIDAY!

It's guaranteed Next Day Air. Mazda wouldn't do that to me...... Would they???
To add insult to injury the oversized bumper I ordered came Averitt Freight, and was here at 10AM this morning.

Lately, for me, it's been as follows:
Normal thinking: Ship box of parts to platers, 2.5 hours away in Fresno, CA. Platers complete work and send box back via same route. Receive box back from platers. Complete car.
UPS thinking: Ship box of parts to platers, 2.5 hours away in Fresno, CA. Platers complete work and send box back via same route... aaaannnddd lose box somewhere in Oklahoma. Disappear box, finding no record of its arrival anywhere on the return journey. Cause original shipper to bang head on desk, and scramble to source very hard to find BMW M5 throttle parts to be resent to platers so original shipper can then proceed with customer project.

Funny thing is there's a UPS distro center in Addison, about a third of the way between Aurora and Milwaukee.
For that matter, I'm from around Aurora, it takes 2 hours to drive to Milwaukee from there. Would have been almost more worth it to meet the shipper half way and exchange product/cash there.

Just did something similar to me. Leaving mid Indiana heading to Detroit area, went to Chicago first.
*Facepalm*

As someone who used to work for a mail order company, Louisville is the main UPS Air hub for this part of the country - anything Air has to go through there to go anywhere else.
If you had ordered it via UPS Ground it would have went the red route.

UPS did something similar to me with the last thing I ordered. It went from Spartanburg, SC to Greensboro, NC which was at least in the right direction... and then they schlepped it 450 miles westward to Louisville before sending it to my area.
