Yesterday I made a few post about one of my favorite Struggling Automakers with no defined purpose, Scion. I'm curious if any other Opponaughts here have a favorite underdog that they wish to see another decade.

My favorites in this order: Lotus, Scion, Mitsubishi.

Oppo ?

I have no idea why, but Mitsubishi. I have a huge soft spot for them for some reason.

Then again, I also adored Saturn and Pontiac in their final years so maybe I just have a thing for rooting for the underdogs.

Lotus for sure. I think Alfa can be considered an underdog right now. I'd like to see FIAT do well but only if they do more than the 500 and bastardized versions of the 500 like the 500L. If that's all they plan to do then let them burn.

with Fiat also getting a Mazda(ala Scion :D), I think Fiat might add some dignity as long as it doesn't have 500 face.

Mazda. 100% I love their products and their design philosophy (obviously, since both mine and my wife's cars are made by them). I really think they deserve a lot of success and I hope it works out for them.

Judging from what they've been doing I don't have high hopes.

I forgot to include mazda. I forget that since my gf and I have them and there are a bunch in my neighborhood that they're small time sometimes.

A lot of my favorite underdogs are already dead... I freaking loved Spyker and Gumpert. Spyker built beautiful supercars meant to be used in the manner many supercar owners actually use their cars - for posing and cruising. Gumpert built some of the most serious track weapons of the decade, and it always seemed like they were road legal by accident. Oh well...

I'll add another vote for Lotus. I literally can't imagine a situation were I'd buy one, but it feels nice knowing Lotus is still doing what they do.

Its probably the Evos lol. They were a powerhouse in the 90s and then they stopped updating the EVO for ten years..

Nice. I'd still buy the mazda so it could be badge buddies with my 3.
