I'll be using this to fix a little issue I've been having lately with the Stringbean.

Shhhhhh! You're supposed to do a handful of comical/improbable guesses first. But yes, that exactly what it is.
Curious how this works.. my engine doesn't over heat which is good, the dash shows my engine temp never moving but if I go through my OBD-II and phone I can see that the engine is running at normal temps. All sorts of confusing.

Heck, I replaced the sensor in my car and the gauge still doesn't work. And I've rewired the entire gauge/temp system, now that's annoying. I don't have any OBD stuff to work with either.

It may be as simple as a borked gauge for both of us.

Sounds like your sensor is fine but your sender is bad

That's what I'm thinking. Took like 20 seconds to swap out .... No response on the dash -____-

There's sometimes 2 sensors. One for the pcm, and one for the gauge. Also, could be a chance the gauge on the cluster is bad. Does it move around when you turn the key on and off?

nope, not a flinch. Actually I think it's sitting lower than normal, usually it's a bit off the pin - now it's resting on the pin.

Unplug the sensor and watch the scanner and the gauge, should go down to like -40 when unplugged. At least youll know which is which.
