And Cuban Cigars that are legal!

U.S. Customs used to seize them at the airport from people who tried to bring them back from Cuba since you aren't allowed to currently bring anything to Miami Int'll. You used to only be able to fly to Cuba from Miami if you had family there, had an educational visa or were granted a visa.

I'd be pained to be the guy shredding all of those cigars though.

They don't tell you that there are plenty of modern cars there. People think the place is totally devoid of cars. Lots of second tier companies like Daewoo have cars there.

I just did a side deal with a Cuban resident in the US for a month on his car. He actually has a US made Neon in Cuba by way of Panama.

I have...plans. BIG plans in Cuba.

They shredded them? I thought that's where good chunk of the TSA's income came from.

Really? That is all the more reason to go! I figured like most tourist places it would all be high priced.

Which part is the joke: the misspelling, or the "commie"?

I figured places like India, Russia, and Germany imported to Cuba.

Big plans? Importing classics?

I did not know that is how it was spelled. But overall the Commie statement was a joke.

Yep. They shred, incinerate and flush into the sewers all prohibited items coming into the country such as meat, vegetables, cigars. That kind of thing that they couldn't legally sell in the country at all. They seize, but never sell.

Also, USCBP and the TSA are different agencies. CBP is armed and is responsible for everything coming into the country, while the TSA is unarmed and their efforts are more focused on what is being brought out of the country.

Items that the TSA seizes at airport security checkpoints like knives will get sold for revenue. That kind of thing can be found on Govdeals and there's a few stores out there that sell those items, but never prohibited items that are seized by CBP coming into the country.

Smart man! I wish relations with Cuba didn't suck so much. I know they are getting better but it still makes me hesitant to go.

Yeah! He went last decade. I'm sure it will get more expensive over time but it was cheap then because not many people could come. You had to use loopholes in the law to go there from the US.

I think it is absurd that we still need to use loopholes to get there from the US. But it is a Communist state so I guess I understand why.

He had a great experience there, said the people and cars were awesome. Took a long time to get approved to go tho.

His biggest take away about the old cars Was they chop the roofs off to make homemade convertibles because they either don't have ac or the ac doesn't work haha. And they don't do any reinforcing of the body he said it was horrifyingly awesome. I'll have to try and get the link for his photography for you.

I always wondered what would happen if you chopped the top off an old car without reinforcing it.
