that is all I've ever wanted!

This changes a lot. Though 0-8 is a wide margin.

Indeed, though I'd be fairly chuffed with pretty much anything in that range, honestly.

Do they need to verify it in any way though? I feel like if people are "user-reporting" that, then you will get plenty of riced out civics in the "0-8" range.

It isn't user reported; the stats are based on the manufacturer figures for each model. If you'd modified the car to make it faster, you'd have to say so in the seller-written blurb.

Agreed. Pretty much anything in the 7 second range would satisfy me but I'm not likely to be buying anything that can do 60 in less than 5 seconds so filtering out those cars would be nice.

Yeah, same. I wouldn't mind the option to manually define a range - say, 9.5 - 7.0 - either. Still, this represents a fairly dramatic improvement over the nothing we had before.

Manufacturers numbers are most likely used. Civics are pretty much the go to entry level track day bro car here... Yes I'm looking for one. Also we don't have riced Civics in the UK.

We have Corsas.

The Chevy Cobalt I drive does 0-60 in 8 seconds. Not spectacular at all LOL.

o-60 in 6.5 seconds or less is more exciting.

And 0-60 in 3.5 seconds or less is more exciting still. I'm just looking for something that's a bit faster in a straight line than what I drive now, but still handy in the corners, and insurable for a sane amount of money.

106 Rallye.

I would.

i couldn;t imagine what 3.5 would feel like. 5.9 in the WRX (which I dont think I've achieved) seems incredibly fast

I would too, but they're an arse to find, and decent examples go for crazy cash. Still...

The fastest car I've ever actually done the sprint in - I wasn't driving, sadly - is a Mark VII Fiesta ST, so yah, 3.5 would be pretty nutty.

Finally. Next make EPA ratings on window stickers small and the 0-60 times mandatory in large font

I'm tremendously tempted, but 170 miles is a long way to go for an ad with virtually no details. At that price, you know it's gonna be more of a project than something you can actually use as a DD, even if your DD requirements are as lax as mine.

I'm not sure I've anywhere near the level of mechanical skill to do a full engine swap and suspension rework on my old 1.1, and besides, I only have the space - and the money - to run one car at a time. If I start taking my 106 to bits, I've got no way to get to work or Uni.

Eh, I've been driving a 1.1 litre Peugeot with 59 horsepower for the past two and a half years, and it manages. I get the impression our slip roads/on-ramps tend to be a lot more forgiving here, and drivers are taught to move over a lane to let people on.

The stat sheet says 14.4, but I'm positive it's at least a bit quicker than that, based on my time with it. Here's a video someone made:

I am not clued up on 106's but with careful planning it could be done in a weekend if you were replacing the gearbox with the engine you could unbolt everything then use an engine crane to lift the car off of the engine and box assembly. It would need herculean planning abilities.

Ha! I had a lot of fun with my Mazda 3s hatch, which was 2750 lbs with 160 hp. I bet it's a ton of fun to chuck your little car around town.

YUP. It's great on backroads, too. I'd love to replace it with one of the two sporting versions of the model, the Rallye:

Or GTi:

Sadly, Rallyes are incredibly tough to find, and appreciating in value, while GTis are a nightmare to insure on account of their popularity with crash-happy tracksuit enthusiasts. Still, I shall eventually fulfil my rally-car-based fantasies:

I was forced into doing my first major work on my only car because I blew the engine up and I also had no tools.

Lots of Favours. Though you could strip yours out?
