What is your least favorite Super, or Hyper car?
Mine would have to be the Veyron. Generally speaking I don't like the way they look. from the awkward grill, and sad headlights, to the over all jellybean appearance, to me it lacks elegance, romance, and "sex appeal". Now I understand this might be a function>from kind of situation, but a car of this caliber should be drop dead gorgeous and to me it just plain isn't.

Honestly I must agree with you. This car never did much for me except it could go fast in a straight line. Well it was also great technologically but the looks never moved me to think it was amazing.

Same here. I never really liked this car.

New Ford GT. If i want a Ford GT it's should has a V8. I don't care.
*Hides.

I simply just don't like Porsches.

I get that. I don't agree, but I get it.

I wouldn't say I dislike the car, but I'm not a huge fan of the P1's styling.

That's actually one of the better looking Veyrons, the restyle in black. But I agree. It's also pretty useless because it runs out of fuel in 17 minutes at top speed, and the tires are $20,000 and wear out in 3, 000 miles. The Lexus LF-A gets my vote though. That awkward vent opening in front that makes the hood look perpetually open (unless you get it in black, where it's less noticeable), and just too many vents in weird shapes with no real cohesion to the design, and as you note with the Veyron, not much sex appeal. I look at it and I think 1980s Supra, not supercar. I saw this parked next to a McLaren P1, Lamborghini Hurracan and Ferrari 458, and it faded into the background.

I agree. I don't care that the new one can theoretically save like 5 mpg on the EPA test (which we know is flawed to begin with). I want something that feels like a modern equivalent of the original GT40 race car.

Pagani. The Zonda looks weird, and all their interiors are just way too over the top.

In all honesty, I love the Veyron. I think it is a beautiful car! However, it is your opinion and I respect that.
Anyway, least favorite supercar/hypercar has to be the Henessey Venom.

To me, the Aventador is the official car of "I have more money than taste and literally no imagination"

Yeah.
Plus, i always think the previous Ford GT is America's take on Supercar. And as we know, you Americans has make the V8 for 1 billion years now, and A GT without V8 is just..incomplete.

I just can't not like Lambos. They go for crazy, and they hit the nail on the head.

I'm thinking Pagani - give me airbags please? And those chrome switches? Not so much. Give me a dashboard I can understand.

Veyron, Aventador, Huracan, LF-A, TheFerrari, 458. Don't care for 'em. Never have. I'd throw the F12 in there but I just can't bring myself to hate on over 700 HP of all motor V12.
I'm honestly not a big fan of Ferrari in general. They're douchebags and I don't find them that pretty. I'm sure if I drove one I'd love it but I'd rather have a Porsche or something from a smaller independent.
I also have to mention the new Ford GT. Is it radical looking? Absolutely. Do I find it good looking ?

I really love Paganis but the interior on the Huayra.... while I can appreciate it for its artfulness and quality of materials, it's gaudy.

They're far less crazy than they should be. They're basically Audi's now.

Agree about the Veyron. Since that one is already nominated, though, I must say that I really don't like the P1. It doesn't do anything amazing. From what I've read and watched, the 918 and LaFerrari are both better cars, especially in all the subjective driving dynamics. Furthermore, I think it's just ugly. It has a great silhouette, but the detailing is pretty gauche, even for what is essentially a race car. It also utterly fails to redefine what a supercar is like the F1 did. There won't be a rash of cars from other makers trying to emulate the P1 the way they tried to do with the F1 because the P1 is not doing anything that can even remotely be considered new. Also, no 1+2 seating makes me very sad.
As a runner up, the Huracán. It just doesn't do it for me. The Gallardo looked a million times better, driving characteristics be damned. It could also be had in stick. And RWD. Huracán is a wannabe Lamborghini, a tarted up R8. I already think the R8 is an overrated tub, and the Huracán is that much worse for trying to hide what it really is.

But they're Audis with polygons and corners.
I completely agree though.

I agree with you completely. Can't say I don't like the utter flamboyance and ridiculousness that is Lamborghini though. They are instantly recognizable and the embodiment of rich and dumb, the Huracan is really tame compared to its predecessors in opposition my previous sentence.

Lamborghini in general along with Ferrari because they are more about status now than performance. I know both brands still make crazy powerful cars that look good or insane, but the whole image surrounding them is ridiculous. Especially Ferrari and their "holier than thou" culture they have regarding themselves. Still respect the racing outfits of big even if I dislike their road car cultures/image.
If you want me to say straight up ugly, it's the Veyron hands down. That thing hit every branch on the ugly tree when it fell off.
I'll take a Viper over either, it's what I think a super car should be. Vulgar, gorgeous, begging to be abused.

this.
absolutely soulless.

I agree. I've never liked the Veyron in looks or for a car. Yes sure it's very fast, but it also costs a hell of a lot and only has three purposes 1, go very fast (where applicable), 2, show how rich the owner is and 3, show said rich owner how he/she has the money to own one but no knowledge or respect for the car in learning how to handle or drive one.
I like a car (even if I can't afford it) to be useable daily, well designed and built, have a certain elegance and/or beauty about it and one that I feel comfortable that I don't look like a douche driving or getting out of.
![]() 04/02/2015 at 03:35 |

The Huracan yes. The Aventador nope. The V12 is strictly Lamborghini.
![]() 04/02/2015 at 03:38 |

There WILL be a RWD Huracan. Of this I can assure you.

10/10 with the Viper sentiment. I lust after that car. It's the only car that makes me feel all tingly inside when/if I see it on the road. They are such rare beasts.
![]() 04/02/2015 at 07:29 |
|
I wouldn't try to get you to like it because I do. But my reason for liking it is that it looks like they took the design and gave it a shot of old time design or maybe a 40s or 50s concept car look. It's different.
![]() 04/02/2015 at 08:05 |

Huracan. The aventador is a touch boring to me on initial appearance but then it has a big V12 and spits flames all the time and acts like a 13 year old on an energy drink binge. But the huracan looks......boring. It is just a simple little lump. The gallardo wasn't exactly insane itself but a) it was a million times better than the jalpa from a few decades ago and b) they got bored and started making it 2WD "for fun". I hope the huracan can *become* crazy because as it sits....meh.

Probably the LaFerrari.

The new crop of Mclaren's or any other super/hyper car that sounds like a muscle car. I love me some burble and thunder but a super/hyper car should wail and scream.

Same here. Its looks are decent, but not sexy.
Koeniggsegg makes cars just as fast, without all the excess weight, and are far more lust-worthy.
That said, if Bugatti needs me to keep one safe for them, my garage is open.

Literally the most boring car in its class. It's the Altima of hypercars

Have you seen the MT review? I was very luke-warm about it until I saw how fast it was.
![]() 04/02/2015 at 10:18 |
|
I never said it wasn't fast, just that it hasn't excited me since it was little more than a drawing. At all. I have never had even little bit of childish glee like I do with thoughts of a turbo 458 successor or the current hybrid ultracar battle. The aventador makes me happy to see, even when it is being slow or "dull" to drive. The huracan? Meh. I'm aware I'll never buy a lamborghini new anyways but this one is just so.......Audi. It's the Audi way to do things - play it safe and refine the shit out of it. But in this case, the refinement has seemed to erode the image of the car. It's a wonderful car to drive, I'm sure. I just don't care that it exists in either way. No emotions. And that sort of defeats the point of it being a supercar in my opinion.
![]() 04/02/2015 at 10:27 |

Ehh, I'd be full of emotions in a car that can do the quarter in 10.6 and lay lap times like:
![]() 04/02/2015 at 10:34 |

Still too "Audi" for me. I expect it from Porsche. Porsche and Audi have the "I am German and I must win" mindset as their "character". Lamborghini has the "I am Italian and I'm drunk off wine and about to go bang some models but first lets make some sweet, sweet mechanical love with a V12 at sunset........while on fire......and at 180mph....."
![]() 04/02/2015 at 10:53 |
