What is this Type R for? It's not even for sale yet, and we already see its replacement?

What date is it today?

Replacement? No. It's just a different bodystyle. The last Civic Type R also came in two body styles.

It's for Europe and other territories that will get it. The Civic concept is nice, but the lead time on cars is usually measured in years, and the next Type-R will probably not be debuting on day one of the new civic launch.

Because that's based on the European Civic, that went on sale in 2012. Honda usually leaves a few years between the regular Cvic and the Type R and there's usually a Type S between them(but for some reason this one got no Type S). Anyways, I'm guess that the new Civic Type R has at least 3 or 4 years on the market, before they develop one based on the next generation hatchback, yet to be unveiled.
All Honda unveiled today was a concept, together with an announcement...
