I sort of agree with Bernie in a way. Yes Vettel has won more championships but Lewis plays the part better. He is much more flashy than Vettel and more flashy than pretty much any of the champions in the past 10ish years. I wasn't really watching when Schumi was winning all the time so I don't know how he was, but the others like Kimi, Alonso, Button and so on are not people who look the part of World Champions. Lewis has the characteristics of someone who can represent the most prestigious/glamorous sport in the world. He appeared all over the media which is needed for people to gain interest in F1. As much as I don't like Bernie he does have a pretty good point here.

I am there with you. I personally think Lewis don't get the respect he deserves. Especially in the USA. And knowing what I know of the history of F1, I don't really hate on Bernie so much. He offered people a piece of what he has now back in the 70's and nobody wanted it.

I remember seeing that in some documentary that Bernie offered all the teams some of the commercial rights for like 100k? or something around there and they all turned him down. Out of the teams that were given the offer only 3, Williams, Mclaren and Ferrari, are the only ones that are still around.

Yup. It was the F1 Documentary "1". He purchased all TV rights for $1 million and offered to split it 10 ways.
